Working with clients where every contact is a unique and interesting experience is the best part of what I do. The most satisfying are treatments where the client actively participates in gaining more awareness of the body’s holding and movement patterns, and is able to release pain.
I am fascinated by the psychosomatic interconnections: how mind influences the body, and how physical stimuli in particular touch, reaches beyond the body into the emotions and the soul. Being human, embodying consciousness, is an amazing journey.
Massage is a wonderful tool to reduce stress and invite people back into their bodies. This is always an effective measure towards sustaining good health.
I am glad that touch therapies are gaining more widespread acceptance as helpful adjuncts. In some modalities, this is the best answer to various disease conditions. I first learned Swedish massage in Germany in 1980. In 1983, I obtained a certificate from the New Age School of Massage in Sebastopol.
